A pirate and a princess

Yesterday in the car we were talking about Brandon being 8 soon. Our conversation:

Me: you are going to be 8 soon, half way to driving (thanks Aunt Kimmie!)

Brandon: yup, I'm going to drive and go away.

Me: I thought you were going to live with me forever?

Brandon: Yeah, I decided that I'm going to sail the high seas.

Me: Sail the high seas?

Brent: Are you joining the Navy?

Brandon: No, I think I'll be a pirate.

Hannah (from the backseat as well): I'm going to be a princess.

Yeah, I love my pirate and my princess!

Another Hannah-ism: Thanksgiving we were in bed and Hannah came in to snuggle.

Me: Let's go get dressed, you can wear your new dress with the hearts.

Hannah: The dress with the Valentine's? It is Valentine's Day! Yippee! And Santa will be here!

Hee, hee! I think she is a bit confused about the holidays! We tried to tell her that it is Thanksgiving and we eat turkey. Santa will visit in a month and on Valentine's day we can wear hearts but we can wear hearts on other days too. I don't think it worked but she wasn't distressed that Santa didn't visit.

Things I am thankful for...

1. Brent - I hope he knows how much I really love him.
2. Brandon - He makes me laugh so much. He has a great sense of humor and is so sweet.
3. Hannah - My little sweet pea! She is so lively and fun!
4. Sarah - I can't wait to see her little face.
5. My family
6. My friends

November 13 = 22 months

...guess what? on November 13 we will have been waiting 22 months for Sarah. Do you know what else? 22 months is also the length of time an elephant is pregnant. Nice to know, huh? If I were an elephant I'd have my baby right now.
In other news CCAA matched families with LID's through December 8. We are down to 36 days before our LID. I'm thinking that once we get down to the teens we will have a month or two before our turn. I'm still hoping for February but it is looking like it could be April even. That is getting so close to the Olympics.

Picture post

Hannah: right after surgery
Hannah: after they removed everything and we were told she could come home. Notice the major bedhead in the back! It took me 20 minutes to comb through that mess!
This is what she did when we got home and after her bath. Asleep on the couch with her towel over her head. Poor baby was so tired still!
Brandon: pumpkin carving. He loved getting in there and making a mess!
Hannah: pumpkin carving - a little more refined.
