Sarah - July 23

From last night - our first picture of a peaceful Sarah.

Doesn't Daddy look smitten? This could come in handy.. see later in this post...

Pretty girl waiting for breakfast.

Wasn't this supposed to be breakfast - I'm waiting for someone to feed me! (Something we have learned about Sarah - she does not put food into her own mouth. She will pick something up and hand it to us so we can feed her. She won't hold her own bottle at all. Not that this is a huge issue since we want her to know that we will feed her but we are trying to get her to play with her food and put some things in her mouth. She did feed herself a few bites at dinner but it seemed as if she was "looking for permission".)

My Daddy knows how to make me laugh!

A breakfast playdate with my friend Grace. Hey Gracie, want to play with me?

Grace and I have fun together - we share toys.

On our way to do the paperwork to make it official in China! This will NEVER happen at home! There are no carseats in China and no rules about children in cars. See post below about traffic and how people drive. Mommy was a little nervous!

The woman on the left is the director of the Social Welfare Institute (orphanage) that Sarah is from. She is the one who named Sarah.

I like to be lifted in the air by my Daddy! (This almost always makes her smile!)

Daddy kept me entertained while we were waiting to get all the paperwork done in Nanchang.

My friend Abigail on her mommy's legs.

My friend Brielle with her daddy.

It was a long hard morning joining my new family! According to China I am officially Mommy and Daddy's! Now we just have to get to Guangzhou and do the USA stuff!

Are all these toys mine? Where to start...
I like the stacking cups best.

Playing on the bed

Here Daddy feed this to me.

Wrapped around her little finger already! We spent about an hour and a half to two hours playing on the bed with the stacking cups and cereal bits.

The snugli was fun. Mommy and Sarah were smiling at ourselves in the mirror and I was laughing.

And so ends another day in the life of Sarah! We also met another new friend today. One of the families in our group got here this afternoon and met their daughter so we should have pictures of Sarah with her tomorrow!

The smiles... We can't wait to see her in person. You can guess what the first thing we did this morning was to check the blog for new pictures.

So glad I ran across your blog! We too, are in Nanchang, spending our 3rd day with our daughter, Ahna. I think we'll be ready for some Guangzhou food! None of the families in our travel group are having great luck with the food here - how 'bout you?
Your daughter is beautiful! Congratulations!
